Course Overview

Situated in Birgunj near the Indian border, National Medical College offers an MBBS program affiliated with Tribhuvan University. The curriculum delivers fundamental instruction in preclinical basic sciences—anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology—before advancing to clinical rotations.

Hospital clerkships take place at its 1,000-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital, exposing students to high patient volumes in general surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, tropical diseases, and emergency care. NMC integrates community field postings and a compulsory 12-month rotating internship, providing rigorous preparation for screening and licensing exams.
