As the central medical department of Kathmandu University located in Dhulikhel, KUSMS operates a student-centered MBBS curriculum combining integrated preclinical basic sciences with problem-solving learning modules. Students master foundational subjects—anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology—before progressing to clinical clerkships centered at Dhulikhel Hospital, a 475+ bed community-guided tertiary health center.
Rotations cover internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN, orthopedics, and emergency medicine, supported by active community health postings and a compulsory 12-month rotating internship focused on evidence-based healthcare.
