Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Syktyvkar State University provides students with a balanced medical education that integrates theoretical learning, practical laboratory training, and supervised clinical experience. During the foundational years, students study anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and pharmacology while developing essential laboratory and communication skills. Practical education is reinforced through simulation-based learning and clinical skills laboratories that prepare students for hospital practice.

Clinical rotations are carried out in affiliated healthcare institutions, allowing students to gain experience in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine. The program also includes preventive medicine, public health, and medical ethics to promote comprehensive patient care. Through continuous clinical exposure and structured internships, graduates acquire the diagnostic competence and practical abilities expected of modern physicians.
