Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Stavropol State Medical University is structured around competency-based learning that combines academic excellence with extensive hands-on clinical experience. Students receive comprehensive instruction in anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology during the foundational years while participating in laboratory-based practical education. The curriculum places significant emphasis on simulation-based clinical skills training, enabling students to master patient examination, emergency procedures, and diagnostic techniques before clinical placements.

Senior students complete hospital rotations across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, oncology, and intensive care within affiliated teaching hospitals. The program also integrates evidence-based medicine, preventive healthcare, and interdisciplinary collaboration to strengthen clinical reasoning and patient management.
