General Medicine – SSMU

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Siberian State Medical University is distinguished by its strong integration of medical education, biomedical research, and advanced clinical practice. The curriculum begins with comprehensive instruction in anatomy, physiology, histology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology while emphasizing scientific thinking from the earliest stages of study. Students benefit from modern simulation centres, research laboratories, and digital learning technologies that support the development of clinical and diagnostic skills before entering hospital settings.

Clinical education is conducted through the university’s own multidisciplinary clinics and affiliated healthcare institutions, where students gain supervised experience across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, neurology, obstetrics & gynecology, and emergency medicine. A unique feature of the program is its research-oriented approach, encouraging students to participate in innovation projects and biomedical investigations alongside clinical education. Continuous assessment, evidence-based learning, and extensive practical training prepare graduates for residency, postgraduate education, and modern healthcare environments.
