Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University is distinguished by its research-intensive curriculum and strong emphasis on evidence-based clinical education. Students receive comprehensive instruction in anatomy, physiology, histology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, and immunology before advancing into integrated clinical medicine. Clinical rotations are conducted in leading multidisciplinary hospitals and specialized medical centres, providing experience in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, oncology, neurology, and intensive care. The curriculum encourages active participation in biomedical research, innovation projects, and scientific conferences, allowing students to combine academic excellence with practical clinical experience.
