General Medicine – NSU

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Novosibirsk State University is distinguished by its close integration with Russia’s leading scientific and biomedical research ecosystem. Students begin with an intensive foundation in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology, molecular medicine, genetics, and pathology while benefiting from research-driven teaching methods. A defining feature of the curriculum is its collaboration with research institutes and clinical centres within Akademgorodok, allowing students to gain early exposure to translational medicine and biomedical innovation.

Clinical training includes simulation-based learning, laboratory diagnostics, and supervised hospital rotations across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, neurology, cardiology, oncology, and critical care. The program encourages students to participate in research projects, scientific publications, and interdisciplinary collaborations that strengthen analytical thinking alongside clinical competence. By integrating advanced scientific education with practical medical training, the program prepares graduates for careers in clinical medicine, medical research, and postgraduate specialization.
