General Medicine – KSMUe

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Kemerovo State Medical University combines comprehensive medical education with extensive practical exposure in multidisciplinary healthcare settings. During the initial years, students build a solid academic foundation in anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and pharmacology through lectures, laboratory classes, and practical demonstrations. A distinctive feature of the curriculum is its focus on developing clinical competence through simulation technologies and standardized patient training before hospital-based education begins.

Clinical learning takes place in affiliated healthcare institutions where students receive supervised instruction in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, and intensive care. The program also incorporates occupational medicine, preventive healthcare, and public health, reflecting the healthcare priorities of the region. Graduates complete the course with strong clinical reasoning, procedural skills, and the confidence required for further specialization.
