General Medicine – KBSUk

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Kabardino-Balkarian State University combines classical medical education with competency-based practical training throughout its six-year curriculum. Students first complete comprehensive studies in anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and pharmacology before progressing into integrated clinical disciplines and patient care. The program emphasizes early development of clinical skills through simulation laboratories, practical workshops, and structured communication training prior to hospital exposure.

Clinical education is delivered through affiliated medical institutions where students rotate across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, neurology, cardiology, traumatology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine. Students also study preventive medicine, public health, and evidence-based healthcare while participating in research and academic activities. The curriculum ensures graduates develop strong diagnostic abilities, clinical confidence, and the professional competencies required for successful medical careers.
