Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Far Eastern State Medical University is structured to provide students with extensive theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience through a patient-centered learning approach. The pre-clinical phase focuses on anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, and medical genetics, supported by laboratory sessions and practical demonstrations. The university emphasizes gradual clinical immersion through simulation centres, procedural skills laboratories, and structured patient communication training before hospital placements.

Clinical education is delivered in affiliated multidisciplinary hospitals where students rotate through internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, anesthesiology, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also includes preventive medicine, rehabilitation, and public health to provide a broader understanding of healthcare delivery. Through supervised clinical internships, research opportunities, and continuous practical assessment, graduates acquire the diagnostic, procedural, and professional skills required for successful medical practice.
