General Medicine – CSU

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Chuvash State University is designed to combine strong biomedical education with early clinical exposure and practical patient care. During the pre-clinical phase, students study anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and pharmacology through lectures, laboratory sessions, and practical demonstrations. The university emphasizes clinical skill acquisition through simulation centres and practical workshops, allowing students to develop confidence before hospital-based learning begins.

Senior students undergo supervised clinical rotations in affiliated healthcare institutions across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also integrates preventive medicine, public health, medical ethics, and research activities to promote comprehensive professional development. By combining theoretical knowledge with continuous clinical training and practical internships, the program equips graduates with the diagnostic abilities, clinical judgment, and patient-care skills expected of modern physicians.
