General Medicine – KSU

Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Kalmyk State University offers an integrated medical curriculum that combines biomedical sciences with practical hospital training and patient-oriented education. Students begin with anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, and immunology before progressing into clinical medicine through systematic practical instruction. The university places emphasis on developing hands-on clinical skills through simulation laboratories and practical workshops, ensuring students are well prepared before beginning clinical rotations.

Hospital-based education is delivered through affiliated medical institutions where students receive supervised training in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also incorporates preventive medicine, public health, and evidence-based clinical decision-making, encouraging students to adopt a holistic approach to patient care. Through continuous clinical exposure, internships, and practical assessments, graduates acquire the knowledge and professional competence required for successful medical careers.
