General Medicine – BSUb

Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Buryat State University is structured to provide a comprehensive medical education through an effective blend of theoretical instruction, practical laboratory training, and continuous clinical exposure. Students first study anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, and medical biology before progressing into integrated clinical subjects. The curriculum emphasizes practical competency through simulation-based learning, anatomical training, and clinical skills workshops that prepare students for hospital practice.

Clinical education takes place in affiliated healthcare institutions where students receive supervised experience in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, neurology, cardiology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine. Students are also introduced to preventive medicine, public health, and evidence-based clinical practice while participating in scientific activities and research projects. Continuous bedside teaching and practical internships help graduates develop strong diagnostic reasoning and professional clinical competence.
