Located in Bhairahawa, the Universal College of Medical Sciences delivers an MBBS program affiliated with Tribhuvan University. The curriculum begins with two years of integrated preclinical studies covering anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology.
Clinical clerkships are conducted at its 750-bed teaching hospital, a major tertiary referral center in western Nepal, where students complete rotations in general surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and casualty emergency care. UCMS incorporates rural community health diagnostic postings and a 12-month compulsory rotating internship focused on practical procedural skills.
