Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at MU School of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME. The curriculum utilizes problem-based learning (PBL), patient-centered clinical skills, and core clerkships across MU Health Care facilities and rural sites.

Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • 90+ semester hours completed at an accredited US college required.
  • MCAT required (510+ target); TOEFL iBT for non-native speakers.
  • 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Physics, English.
  • The medical degree program is restricted to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents. While the university may sponsor F-1 student visas for certain graduate or non-medical academic programs, this sponsorship does not extend to the MD program.
  • Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should provide either a Committee Letter or three individual academic Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors who have taught the applicant and are able to evaluate their academic performance, professionalism, and readiness for medical training.
