Located in Jumla, the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences delivers a distinct MBBS program tailored toward rural medicine, emergency care, and primary healthcare delivery. The curriculum begins with integrated basic medical science modules—including human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology—before advancing into clinical clerkships in its affiliated 300-bed teaching hospital.
Students gain hands-on clinical exposure in general surgery, internal medicine, maternal-child care, and high-altitude emergency pathologies. Featuring close faculty mentorship, KAHS incorporates community field training and a 1-year rotating internship to prepare doctors for practice in both urban tertiary centers and remote healthcare settings.
