Situated in Lalitpur, the Patan Academy of Health Sciences offers an innovative, community-engaged MBBS program designed to develop compassionate primary and tertiary care physicians. The preclinical curriculum utilizes Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to integrate anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology with early clinical reasoning.
Clinical clerkships are centered at Patan Hospital, a 650-bed tertiary care center, where students rotate through internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, and orthopedics. PAHS integrates longitudinal community health postings in rural Nepal alongside a 12-month compulsory rotating internship, building diagnostic capability and public health leadership.
