Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Pacific State Medical University is designed to prepare students for modern clinical practice through an integrated curriculum that combines biomedical sciences, advanced simulation training, and extensive hospital-based education. Students begin with anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical genetics before progressing into clinical disciplines through an organ-system approach. A key strength of the program is its emphasis on simulation medicine, where students develop procedural skills, emergency response techniques, and clinical communication before entering patient-care settings.

Clinical rotations are conducted in affiliated multidisciplinary hospitals across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, oncology, intensive care, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also integrates evidence-based medicine, medical research, and preventive healthcare to strengthen clinical decision-making. Through supervised internships, bedside teaching, and competency-based assessments, graduates develop the practical expertise and professional confidence required for postgraduate medical training.
