Course Overview
The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at North Ossetian State Medical Academy follows a structured curriculum that combines rigorous academic instruction with progressive clinical education. Students first develop a strong understanding of anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology before advancing into clinical diagnostics and disease management. The academy places considerable emphasis on practical learning through simulation laboratories, clinical skills training, and supervised patient interaction from the early years.
Clinical rotations are conducted in affiliated hospitals across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, traumatology, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also promotes evidence-based medicine, preventive healthcare, and participation in scientific research to enhance professional development. Through bedside teaching, internships, and comprehensive clinical assessments, graduates develop the clinical expertise and ethical foundation necessary for successful medical careers.
Entry Requirements
- Academic Qualification: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in 10+2 / Senior Secondary Examination (40% for SC/ST/OBC categories as per Indian regulatory norms).
- Age Limit: Must be at least 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the admission year.
- NEET Score: Mandatory qualification in the NEET-UG exam for Indian citizens planning to practice in India under NMC regulations.
- Language Proficiency: Proof of English proficiency or high school instruction in English (IELTS/TOEFL is not required for most Russian state medical institutions).
- Academic Certificates: 10th & 12th Mark sheets and passing certificates.
- NEET Scorecard: Official scorecard demonstrating NEET-UG qualification.
- Identification: Valid passport with at least 18–24 months of validity remaining.
- Medical fitness certificate from a registered practitioner.
- HIV negative test report (issued within 3 months of departure).
- Photographs: 10–12 passport-sized photographs (3.5 × 4.5 cm with white background).
- Official Authorization: Birth certificate, university invitation letter, and notarized Russian translations of all documents.
