General Medicine – PSUe

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Penza State University follows a modern competency-based curriculum that integrates biomedical sciences, practical laboratory training, and multidisciplinary clinical education. During the initial years, students gain a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology while developing essential laboratory and communication skills. The university places considerable emphasis on simulation-based education, allowing students to practice clinical examinations, emergency procedures, and diagnostic techniques before beginning hospital rotations.

Clinical education is delivered through affiliated healthcare institutions where students receive supervised training in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, anesthesiology, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also incorporates medical ethics, preventive healthcare, rehabilitation medicine, and scientific research to promote comprehensive professional development.
