General Medicine – VSMUv

Course Overview

The General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Voronezh State Medical University follows an integrated educational model that emphasizes early clinical orientation, practical competency, and scientific thinking. Students first study anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology through interactive lectures, laboratory classes, and practical demonstrations. The university incorporates simulation-based education and standardized clinical skills training to help students master essential medical procedures before hospital placements.

During the clinical years, students receive supervised training in affiliated hospitals across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine. The curriculum also includes preventive healthcare, medical ethics, rehabilitation, and family medicine to promote holistic patient management. Participation in student research societies and scientific conferences further enhances analytical and clinical reasoning, enabling graduates to enter residency with strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
