General Medicine – RSMUr

Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Rostov State Medical University is designed to provide comprehensive medical education through a combination of fundamental sciences, simulation-based learning, and extensive hospital training. The curriculum begins with anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, medical genetics, and microbiology before progressing into pathology, pharmacology, and integrated clinical medicine. A distinctive feature of the program is its close collaboration with multidisciplinary teaching hospitals, enabling students to gain practical experience through bedside teaching, diagnostic evaluations, and supervised patient management.

Clinical rotations cover internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, traumatology, oncology, and emergency medicine. Students also develop professional competencies through research projects, clinical conferences, and modern simulation technologies that reinforce procedural skills before direct patient care. The course concludes with advanced clinical internships and state examinations, ensuring graduates are prepared for postgraduate medical education and contemporary healthcare practice.
