Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Bashkir State Medical University is structured to combine classical medical education with competency-based clinical training. Students begin with in-depth study of anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, medical chemistry, and genetics before progressing to pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, and disease-oriented subjects. A key feature of the curriculum is its strong practical orientation, where simulation centres and clinical skills laboratories help students master examination techniques and emergency procedures before hospital exposure.

Clinical rotations are conducted across affiliated multidisciplinary hospitals in Ufa, providing hands-on experience in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, oncology, trauma care, and intensive care. The program also emphasizes evidence-based medicine, preventive healthcare, and research participation through student scientific societies. Regular clinical assessments, bedside teaching, and internships ensure graduates develop the confidence and professional competence required for modern medical practice and postgraduate specialization.
