General Medicine – MSU

Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine (MBBS equivalent) program at Mari State University is structured to provide international students with comprehensive medical education through a combination of classroom instruction, practical laboratory work, and supervised clinical training. Students first study core biomedical subjects including anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, and microbiology before advancing into clinical medicine. One of the program’s strengths is its gradual introduction to patient care, allowing students to develop communication skills and clinical confidence alongside academic learning.

Clinical training takes place in affiliated hospitals and healthcare institutions, where students rotate through internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, neurology, and emergency care. Practical sessions are supported by simulation equipment and modern teaching laboratories that help students refine examination techniques and procedural skills. Throughout the course, students also participate in scientific activities, elective disciplines, and preventive healthcare education, ensuring they graduate with a well-rounded understanding of modern medical practice and patient-centered care.
