General Medicine – KFU

Course Overview

The 6-year General Medicine program at Kazan Federal University is built around an interdisciplinary approach that combines classical medical education with modern biomedical research and advanced clinical practice. Students first study core medical sciences including anatomy, physiology, molecular biology, pathology, pharmacology, and immunology before progressing into integrated organ-system teaching that connects basic science with patient care. One of the defining characteristics of the program is the close collaboration between the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, university laboratories, and clinical training facilities, giving students exposure to both research and healthcare environments.

Practical education includes simulation-based clinical skills training, laboratory diagnostics, and structured hospital rotations across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, cardiology, oncology, and obstetrics & gynecology. The curriculum also incorporates personalized medicine, biomedical innovation, and scientific research projects, allowing students to understand emerging developments in healthcare. Through continuous practical assessments and supervised patient interaction, graduates develop the analytical, diagnostic, and clinical skills expected of modern physicians.
