The Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (International Medical School – IMS) at the University of Milan is a 6-year integrated MD programme (360 ECTS) taught entirely in English. The curriculum combines foundational biomedical sciences with early clinical exposure, problem-based learning, simulation training, and extensive clinical rotations in leading teaching hospitals across the Lombardy region.
Students develop competencies in diagnosis, patient care, preventive medicine, medical ethics, communication, evidence-based practice, and clinical research through small-group learning and interdisciplinary education. The programme emphasizes innovation, scientific research, international collaboration, and hands-on clinical experience, preparing graduates for postgraduate residency training, medical licensing examinations, and medical practice worldwide, subject to the regulations of the destination country.
