Course Overview
The Master of Laws (International Migration and Refugee Law and Policy) provides specialized knowledge of international migration, refugee protection, asylum law, and global mobility governance. Students examine international conventions, migration policy, humanitarian protection, border management, and the legal rights of displaced populations.
The programme combines legal scholarship with policy analysis to address contemporary migration challenges from regional and global perspectives. Through research and case-based learning, students develop the expertise to evaluate complex legal and humanitarian issues. Graduates are prepared for careers in international organizations, humanitarian agencies, government departments, legal practice, and migration policy development.
Entry Requirements
- Certified copy of a recognized bachelor’s degree in Law, International Relations, or Public Policy (minimum 55% or 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale).
- IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band), TOEFL iBT 88, PTE 61, or Duolingo 110.
- Review of public policy engagement or humanitarian field experience.
- CV/resume, university marksheets, personal essay, and two letters of recommendation.
- Applicants must satisfy programme-specific academic eligibility, and for postgraduate programmes hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Some programmes may also require relevant work experience, an interview, or a portfolio where specified.
