Course Overview
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at UVA School of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME. The NxGen curriculum features integrated preclinical systems, cell-to-society science, early clinical exposure, and rotations at UVA Health.
Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.
Entry Requirements
- 90+ semester hours at an accredited US/Canadian college or degree.
- MCAT required (518+ target); TOEFL/IELTS if non-native.
- 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Chem (Gen/Org), Biochem, Physics.
- International students requiring F-1 student visas are welcome to apply. Applicants must have completed the required prerequisite coursework and accumulated sufficient academic credits at an accredited U.S. institution before applying.
- Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should submit either a Committee Letter Packet or three individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from faculty members, physicians, employers, or research supervisors who can evaluate the applicant’s academic preparation, leadership qualities, and potential for success in medical school.
