Course Overview
The Bachelor of Civil Law and Human Rights combines a comprehensive legal education with an in-depth study of national and international human rights frameworks. Students explore constitutional law, criminal law, international law, equality legislation, refugee law, and human rights advocacy while developing strong legal reasoning and research skills.
The programme encourages critical examination of social justice, public policy, and the protection of fundamental freedoms in diverse legal systems. Through case studies, legal analysis, and practical learning opportunities, students gain the ability to address contemporary human rights challenges. Graduates are well prepared for careers in legal practice, public policy, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and postgraduate legal studies.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of 10 + 2 with a minimum 75% aggregate, demonstrating interest in human rights/social justice.
- IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band), TOEFL iBT 88, PTE 61, or Duolingo 110.
- Essay submission or background evaluation on human rights awareness.
- High school transcripts, personal essay on human rights engagement, and recommendation letters.
- Applicants must satisfy programme-specific academic eligibility, and for postgraduate programmes hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Some programmes may also require relevant work experience, an interview, or a portfolio where specified.
