Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at UNR Med is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME. The curriculum combines organ-systems biomedical coursework, clinical skills, primary care exposure, and clerkships in Northern Nevada health networks.

Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited US institution required.
  • MCAT required (507+ target); TOEFL iBT for foreign degrees.
  • 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Biochem, Physics.
  • Admission is limited to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents. The institution places considerable emphasis on serving the healthcare needs of Nevada and therefore gives strong preference to qualified in-state applicants.
  • Applicants applying through the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) should submit either a Committee Letter or three individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs), including one recommendation letter from a licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD). This physician recommendation provides evidence of the applicant’s clinical exposure and suitability for osteopathic medical education.
