About University of Otago School of Medicine
The University of Otago School of Medicine is New Zealand’s oldest medical school and a globally respected centre for medical education, biomedical research, and clinical excellence. The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) program combines foundational medical sciences with extensive clinical training delivered through the university’s campuses in Dunedin, Christchurch, and Wellington, alongside Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand teaching hospitals.

Eligibility Criteria
- Pathway:Health Sciences First Year (HSFY → MBChB) OR Graduate Entry.
- Academics:10+2 / High School (CBSE/ISC min 85%+ or IB 24–30+) to enter HSFY pre-med; MUST pass all 7 HSFY core papers with min 65% average and no failed paper. Grad Entry: Recognized Bachelor’s degree (min weighted GPA 5.0/7.0).
- NEET Qualification:Qualified NEET-UG scorecard required for Indian citizens.
- Entrance Exam:UCAT ANZ (meeting threshold in Verbal Reasoning & Situational Judgement) + Panel / MMI Interview.
- Age Limit:Minimum 17 years by December 31 of entry year.
- Language:IELTS ≥ 7.0 overall (no band < 7.0) / TOEFL iBT ≥ 95 / PTE ≥ 65.
- Health & Docs:Children’s Act clearance, health assessment, immunization check, valid passport.
