Course Overview

The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Program at WesternU COMP (Pomona) is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by COCA. The curriculum integrates organ-systems basic sciences, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), interprofessional practice, and Southern California clinical rotations.

Graduates receive the title of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (COMLEX-USA / USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • 10+4 accepted w/ evaluation; 90+ semester hours or Bachelor.
  • MCAT required (507+ target); TOEFL iBT (80+) / IELTS (6.5+).
  • Bio (8 Credit Hours), Gen Chem (8 Credit Hours), Org Chem (8 Credit Hours), Physics (8 Credit Hours), Psych/Soc.
  • International applicants requiring F-1 student visas are eligible for admission. Before the institution can begin visa processing, applicants must submit an official financial guarantee, such as an escrow account, certified bank statement, or equivalent documentation, demonstrating sufficient funds to support the entire medical program.
  • Applicants applying through the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) should submit either a Committee Evaluation Packet or three individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs). A recommendation letter from a licensed Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) is recommended as evidence of the applicant’s clinical observation, professional conduct, and commitment to a career in osteopathic medicine.
