Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at UW School of Medicine and Public Health is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME.

The ForWard curriculum integrates basic science, public health, clinical skills, and clerkships across Wisconsin health networks. Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited US/Canadian institution required.
  • MCAT required (512+ target); TOEFL iBT for non-native speakers.
  • 1 semester Stats/Math; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Biochem, Physics.
  • Only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible for admission. The institution does not maintain an F-1 student visa sponsorship program for its medical degree, making international applicants requiring visa sponsorship ineligible.
  • Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should submit either a Pre-Health Committee Letter Packet or three individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from academic faculty or professional references who can objectively assess the applicant’s qualifications, integrity, and potential for medical school.
