Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at Larner College of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME. The Vermont Integrated Curriculum features active learning (no lectures), clinical skills simulation, and clerkship rotations at UVM Medical Center and partner sites.

Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or 90+ credits from an accredited US/Canadian college.
  • MCAT required (512+ target); TOEFL iBT / IELTS for foreign degrees.
  • 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Physics, Writing.
  • International applicants, including F-1 student visa holders, are eligible to apply. Applicants are expected to have completed a meaningful period of academic study within the U.S. educational system before their application is considered for admission.
  • Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should provide either a Pre-Health Committee Letter or three individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors, physicians, employers, or research mentors who can assess the applicant’s academic qualifications, character, and commitment to medicine.
