The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at University of Minnesota Medical School is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME.
The curriculum combines organ-system medical sciences, Indigenous/rural health options, and clinical clerkships across Twin Cities and Duluth campuses. Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.
Entry Requirements
- Bachelor degree from an accredited US institution required.
- MCAT required (511+ target); TOEFL iBT for non-native speakers.
- 1 semester Math/Biostats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Physics, Humanities.
- Standard admission is limited to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents. However, applicants requiring F-1 student visas may be considered for the combined MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) if they have already earned a degree from an accredited U.S. institution and satisfy all additional program requirements.
- Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should submit either a Committee Letter or three individual academic Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from faculty members who can objectively assess the applicant’s academic qualifications, integrity, and potential for success in medical school.
