Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at UAMS College of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME. The curriculum combines organ-systems preclinical coursework, clinical skill development, and clinical clerkships at UAMS Medical Center and Arkansas Children’s.

Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • 90+ semester hours at an accredited US college required.
  • MCAT required (508+ target); TOEFL iBT for non-native speakers.
  • 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Physics, English.
  • Only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible for admission. The institution gives particularly strong preference to Arkansas residents in keeping with its public service mission. International applicants requiring F-1 student visa sponsorship are not eligible.
  • Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should provide either a Committee Letter Packet or three individual academic Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors who have instructed the applicant and can evaluate their academic performance, scientific knowledge, and readiness for medical education.
