Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at Stanford University School of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME.

The curriculum combines preclinical foundational sciences, scholarly research project time, flexibility for dual degrees, and clerkships at Stanford Health Care. Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • 10+4 accepted w/ evaluation; Bachelor degree required.
  • MCAT required (519+ target); TOEFL iBT / IELTS if non-native.
  • Calculus/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Biochem, Physics, Writing.
  • International applicants, including those requiring F-1 student visas, are fully eligible to apply. All applicants are evaluated using the same academic and admissions criteria regardless of citizenship. However, admission remains extremely competitive due to the institution’s highly selective admissions process.
  • Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should submit either a Pre-Health Committee Letter or three to six individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors, physicians, employers, research mentors, or supervisors who can provide a detailed evaluation of the applicant’s academic performance, clinical exposure, and personal attributes.
