About Memorial University of Newfoundland Faculty of Medicine
Memorial University Faculty of Medicine is the only medical school in Newfoundland and Labrador and plays a vital role in educating physicians for Atlantic Canada. The curriculum combines biomedical sciences, clinical education, and community engagement with extensive exposure to rural and regional healthcare settings.
Students complete clinical training through Eastern Health and affiliated hospitals while participating in research across primary healthcare, rural medicine, aging, cardiovascular health, and population health. The faculty is committed to improving healthcare access and addressing the unique health needs of rural, coastal, and Indigenous communities.
